Camping at the Cabin
We enjoyed a couple of relaxing days at our favorite borrowed cabin. The Van Leeuwen's are always gracious in letting us invade their fabulous cabin from time to time. Matt and Cami were the first ones to arrive, even though they traveled several times farther than the rest of us from Colorado. The next challenge was that we did not remember the code to into the house (or remembered the wrong one). After a several attempts and a drive down the canyon to get cell service to make a call, we finally were able to enter the cabin. I whipped up a double batch of dutch oven meatless chili that was pretty dang good if I do say so myself. Some of us set up tents in the yard while others staked their claim on the beds and couches inside. Most of the group went on a hike up the road. It was nice to walk and chat while checking out the fall leaves. We didn't really make very far but it was still a great little hike. We took advantage of the fact that everyone was together for some family pictures. Cami and I tried to get some good pictures. You can find more cabin pictures here and more family pictures here. |
