Donut Falls

We decided to gather a few family for an Autumn hike to Donut Falls in Big Cottonwood canyon.

The reason?

Several of us had Friday off,

The Autumn colors were developing nicely,

Cami and Matt were in town for the funeral of Matt's Grandfather (although Matt had other commitments),

And we wanted to.

Besides, why do we need a reason?

The weather was a bit on the chilly side.

Which just reinforced the fact that Fall is here and Winter is coming soon.

Here are the rest of the Donut Falls Pictures.

Hookie with Tara on the Alpine Loop

While Tara was in town last month, we decided that I really needed to not go to work on Tuesday.

Instead, Tara and I spent the day driving the Alpine Loop.

This includes Spanish Fork Canyon, Cascade Springs, and Provo Canyon along with Timpanagos Cave, Sundance Ski Resort, and Bridal Veil Falls.

The weather was perfect, the leaves were gorgeous, and since it was a weekday afternoon, the traffic was very light.

Tara was trying to figure out the nuances of her new DSLR and well, so was I!

Although my DSLR is 5 years old, I am still trying to learn how to take better pictures.

My ratio of decent to crap seems to be improving, so I am happy that there seems to be progress.

Autumn on Guardsman's Pass

Here are some pictures from a quick drive we took up Big Cottonwood Canyon to look at the leaves back in October.   I know, I am Very behind with posts.

The colors were pretty sparse until got up to the ski resorts.

Then the colors really started coming out the Guardsman's Pass road.

It was a great day for photos.
